RavenLaw Presents at OBA Labour Law Conference

On November 19, RavenLaw lawyers presented at the Ontario Bar Association’s Annual Current Issues in Labour Law program. The full-day conference addressed pressing issues and substantial developments in labour law. Jessica Greenwood presented on notable recent labour cases and legislative updates, including recent amendments to the Canada Labour Code and decisions by labour arbitrators. Morgan Rowe spoke on the panel addressing recent high-profile labour disputes, such as the strikes and workplace actions by CUPE flight attendants and by CUPW postal workers.

RavenLaw Supports Annual Workers’ Bowl

On November 15, RavenLaw participated in the Workers’ Action Centre’s 13th annual Workers’ Bowl, raising over $12,000.

All funds raised for the Workers’ Bowl go directly to the Ontario Employment Education and Research Centre(OEERC), specifically their Education and Leadership Fund for Workers in Precarious Employment. This fund supports leadership development and education projects in collaboration with the Workers’ Action Centre, with the overarching goal of building a multiracial, multilingual movement to improve the lives and working conditions of people in low-wage and precarious employment in Ontario. The OEERC — in partnership with WAC — connects workers with workshops, ESL classes, libraries, employment programs, immigrant settlement agencies, health centres and many other grassroots community spaces.

RAVENLAW LLP is proud to host and sponsor the GROWL Storytelling Event, taking place at out Toronto office on November 19, 2025 at 6:30 PM.

GROWL, or Group of Racialized Ontario Women Litigators, is committed to creating spaces for shared lived experiences and reshaping the profession in a way that results in greater visibility, promotion and leadership for racialized women litigators.

In the spirit of community building and storytelling, GROWL is hosting an open mic for GROWL members to share their stories from their life and practice. The prompt and theme for the night is “what I know now, that I wish I knew then.

RavenLaw To Present on Nursing Complaints and Investigations

On November 13, 2025, Jessica Greenwood and Anna Lichty will be presenting to CUPE Hospital Workers about navigating College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) investigations and complaints. This information session will provide nurses with invaluable tools on how to respond to complaints, understand their legal obligations during an investigation, explore possible remedial options, and discuss potential investigation outcomes.

RavenLaw To Present At Manitoba Labour Law Review

Dayna Steinfeld and Zachary Rodgers will be presenting at the upcoming 31st Annual Manitoba Labour Law Review. On October 29, 2025, Zach will present union counsel’s perspective on recent Manitoba labour arbitration awards, human rights decisions, and Manitoba Labour Board cases. On October 30, 2025, Dayna will review new human rights accommodation cases from across Canada to discuss valuable takeaways for unions.

RavenLaw To Present At Ottawa Labour Law Conference

RavenLaw lawyers will be presenting at the upcoming, annual Lancaster House Labour Law Conference in Ottawa on October 7 and 8, 2025. Morgan Rowe will be a panelist and facilitator for the full-day workshop on supporting and accommodating mental health disabilities and neurodivergence/neurodiversity in the workplace. Amanda Montague-Reinholdt will present on a panel dealing with significant developments in federal and Ontario labour law, including Government interventions in collective bargaining, terminations for off-duty conduct, and more.

Kim Patenaude to Co-Chair LSO 26th Employment Law Summit

On October 16, 2025, Kim Patenaude will be co-chairing the Law Society of Ontario’s 26th Employment Law Summit. The Summit is dedicated to keeping lawyers and paralegals up-to-date on the year’s crucial court decisions and legislative advancements. The Summit involves legal practitioners from across the province and addresses important topics, such as constructive dismissal and best practices for accommodation and return to work, as well as looking at developing areas such as the use of AI in employment law practices.

Andrew Astritis to Present on Time Theft and Digital Surveillance

On September 9, 2025, Andrew Astritis will present at a webinar on time theft and productivity in the digital world, hosted by Lancaster House. The panel will explore the role and impact of emerging technologies that allow employers to monitor employees and track productivity and whether it is appropriate to use this kind of surveillance in light of employee privacy concerns.
