Articling Student

Gérick Girard is a bilingual articling student based in the firm’s Ottawa office. Prior to joining, Gérick worked as a criminal law caseworker at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic, appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice. He also worked as a research intern with the Equality Law Clinic and as a policy analyst for the federal Labour Program. During his secondment as a summer student at RavenLaw, Gérick worked with Horizon Ottawa.

Gérick holds a J.D. and an LL.L. from the University of Ottawa, where he graduated summa cum laude in 2026 and received academic awards related to research, writing and advocacy. During law school, Gérick worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for Public Law and Property Law classes and as a research assistant for multiple professors. Gérick also participated as an editor for law reviews and was part of the University of Ottawa’s Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Law moot team.

Gérick will be serving as law clerk to the Honorable Justice Negar Azmudeh at the Federal Court in 2027. In his free time, Gérick enjoys watching films and reading books of all flavours.
